About the client

The brand appears as "Solflicks Filmworks" with the tagline "Stories Well Told." Ackrolix's project list spells it "Soflicks" and links to solflicks.com, so this profile uses the spelling on the live site.

What Ackrolix delivered

Ackrolix's portfolio lists Solflicks under media and entertainment, with the service type recorded as Website. A production company's website works as a showcase: it needs to convey the studio's identity and put its work in front of audiences, collaborators and industry contacts.

The live site may have changed since the engagement. The sections below describe what it shows today.

That means the site has to balance mood and information. It should feel cinematic, but visitors also need to find titles, learn about the studio and get in touch easily. The navigation and homepage sections reflect that balance.

  • Industry: Media and entertainment
  • Listed service: Website

A cinematic homepage hero

The homepage opens on a dark, full-width hero built from filmmaking imagery: a clapperboard, a cinema camera and a film reel. Over it, large metallic lettering spells out "Solflicks Filmwork" and "Film Production."

The header is dark too, with the gold Solflicks Filmworks wordmark on the left. Centered links cover Home, About, Films, Series, Behind the Scene and Blog, and a light "Contact" button with an arrow sits on the right.

The dark palette and film props set a cinematic tone from the first screen, and the navigation names the studio's main content types.

The hero has no long copy or competing buttons. A small "Solflicks" label in the lower left is the only extra element, which keeps the focus on the wordmark and imagery.

Studio introduction

Below the hero, the page switches to a warm cream background for the studio introduction. A headline on the left reads "Where Stories Begin, and Cinematic Journeys Unfold," with a dark teal "Know More" button underneath.

On the right, a short paragraph describes Solflicks Filmworks as an independent production company and lists the formats it works in. Under the text, a wide, rounded photograph shows a crew and camera rig on a working set.

The shift from dark hero to light content area marks the move from brand statement to information. The set photograph makes the introduction specific to production work.

The headline uses a wide display typeface that matches the cinematic mood of the hero, while the paragraph uses a simpler sans serif that is easy to read. The Know More button pairs a label with an arrow segment, a style that repeats in the Contact button in the header.

Featured shows with series and films tabs

The "Featured Shows" section returns to a dark background. Two tabs, Series and Films, let visitors switch between formats without leaving the homepage.

With Series selected, a row of vertical posters shows titles including Bajao, Bombay Dyeing, Gondya Ala Re and Hutatma. Each card lists the title, release year and a short season and episode line.

Poster cards work well for a production company because the key art is the work. Visitors can recognize a title at a glance and click through for more detail.

A thin rule under the tabs separates the controls from the poster row, and the black background makes the bright poster colors stand out. New releases can be added as cards under either tab.

Behind the scenes and storytelling

Further down, a "Behind The Camera" section with the subtitle "Experience Moments Behind The Camera" introduces production moments, in line with the Behind the Scene item in the main menu. A Blog link offers another route for longer stories about the studio's work.

Together, these sections help the site do more than list titles. They show how the work gets made, which matters to audiences and potential collaborators alike.

The section headline uses a pink-to-red gradient over a darkened still, a bold change from the neutral tones higher up the page. Pages for Films and Series give each title more room than a homepage card allows.

  • Films and Series pages for the catalog
  • Behind the Scene section for production moments
  • Blog for longer stories

Why this approach suits a production company

For a film and content studio, the website is a portfolio. A dark, image-led design keeps the focus on key art and set photography, while short text blocks explain who the studio is.

Splitting the catalog into Films and Series, both in the navigation and in the homepage tabs, reflects how the studio's work is organized and how viewers look for it.

For a similar project, it helps to decide early how titles will be organized and updated. A consistent poster format, a clear split between films and series, and a simple way to add new releases keep the catalog current without page redesigns.

Ackrolix's website team can help plan this kind of portfolio structure and build pages that suit a studio's visual identity.
